Hello, Indonesia! Happy National Batik Day! I think that today is the right time to share my college final project to all of you. So, here’s the reason…

Before I finally graduated, I’d had such a hard time working on the final project. Lack of sleep, been sick for a week, ate once a day, etc etc; are the most common problems in this case. But the actual problem was the title of my final project: “Brand Activation Media Designing of ‘Sobha Varna’ Color Trend in Mustika Ratu Product”. Well I understand that some of you may be confused. What the heck is brand activation? What is ‘Sobha Varna’ Color Trend? What is Mustika Ratu? Is that a name of a company? But what company?

Simple explanation:

Mustika Ratu is one of the biggest semi-traditional cosmetic companies in Indonesia. ‘Sobha Varna’ is one of the color trend products made by Mustika Ratu. The words ‘Sobha Varna’ have a complicated meaning, but the color shades of this product are adapted from the colors of batik Sogan fabric (origin: Surakarta/Solo city in Central Java province).

According to the theory, there were a number of activities in brand activation; one of them was an event. A batik Sogan fashion show event called ‘Eksogan’ - stood for ‘Eksotisme Sogan’ (‘Sogan Exoticism’) - was the solution that I used to increase the popularity and the selling of ‘Sobha Varna’. And yes, I had to make the mechanisms and design the media of the event. I decided this event would be held on National Batik Day that coincided with October 2, 2015. AND IT’S TODAY!

Thanks for reading first (If you did). But all I really want you to see is my artwork; the media I designed for the final project. Check them below!
